We splurged on this night and started out with a fine dinner at Fred and Ginger's Restaurant on the top floor of Frank Gehry's " Dancing House". The restaurant overlooks the Vlatava River and has incredible views over Prague. We had a 4-5 course gourmet meal of bread, aperitifs, calamari shrimp, tomato froth, split pea soup with flan, monk fish, tenderloin, zucchini, green beans, a potato dish, creme brûlée 3 ways, homemade ice cream 3 ways, and wine. Then we went to the Opera and sat in the first balcony box seats. Wowee what a splurge and well worth every penny.

Bravo! Bravo! Mozart's Don Giovanni by the italian Opera at the Estates Theater
What a treat. We saw Mozart's Don Giovanni in the Estates Theater, which is the opera house that debuted the original Don Giovanni by Mozart. The theater is small, seats about 600 people. The sound was crystal clear. Every note, string, and footstep was crisp. The performers were fantastic. The orchestra was beautiful. The ending was an incredible crescendo with Giovanni dying and going to hell before our eyes. Wow the sound and the incredible drama of it all. Didn't want it to end and when it did, I wanted to see it again. A real treat of a night.
